At 39+ we rely on our volunteers to help us provide vital services to many older people around the Peninsula.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us do anything from helping a customer with their daily living needs to answering the phone!
We need volunteers to help us in the following areas:
Social Support & Activity Groups
Offers a variety of enjoyable and stimulating activities in a warm and friendly environment.
Community Outreach Activities
Provides outings to a variety of destinations as far as Melbourne to Queenscliff, Phillip Island and areas within the Mornington Peninsula.
Flexible care which takes place in our home style cottage, at our centre-based facility or in your home. Duties include assisting customers with their daily living requirements, outings and activities.
Community Store located at 1641 Point Nepean Road, Rosebud West.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 4.00pm and Saturday, 10.00am to 1.00pm.
Duties include customer sales, sorting and pricing donated goods, hanging and displaying clothes, and other items.
Sale proceeds contribute to the cost of our services and directly benefit our service participants.
Medical Appointment Service
– Drivers & Phone Operators
Drivers assist customers with access to transport to attend medical appointments and compassionate visits. Customers are picked up from their home, taken to their appointment/ visit, waited for, then taken home.
Drivers are reimbursed for their fuel based on a rate per km.
Phone Operators ‘man’ the Medical Appointment Booking Service phone from 9.00am to 1.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Phone Operators take appointment details, organise a driver and confirm the booking with the customer.
We won’t throw you in at the deep end: we will match you to the role and service that best suits your skills and interests. You will also receive an initial orientation to 39+ and we also will offer you ongoing training to suuport you in your role.
- Good communication skills are essential.
- All volunteers are required to undergo a National Police Check and are bound by professional ethics and confidentiality.
